Rockhaven: A History of Interiors is an anthology of essays exploring mental health as a feminist issue. The publication is a response to Rockhaven Sanitarium, the first feminist mental health facility in the United States. Opened in 1923, Rockhaven provided an alternative to violent and abusive methods of treatment commonly practiced on women at this time. In 2015, locals set out to designate the site a historical place and preserve it as a part of feminist history.
